The end of season always finishes with British Championships and Home Nations Nationals.

Final competition of the season is the Home Nations Nationals, we had Lola Wheeler and Beth Barrett qualifying for the Swim England National Summer Meet also taking place at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Lola qualified for the 1500m Freestyle event, she had a great, well paced swim, doing a seasonal best time, finishing in the top 10 of the 17yr age group in 9th place.
Beth Barrett qualified for 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m Free events. First up was 200m Free, achieving a small PB in the heat she qualified for the evenings final, where she achieved a huge 2sec PB and came storming down the last 25m to take joint silver.
Day 2 saw Beth competing in the 50m Free, with another PB in the heat and through to the evening's final, she achieved another PB, taking 5th place and only 0.2seconds off a bronze medal. Next up was the 400m Free, having a good swim but slightly off her PB she finished 14th. Final day was the 100m Free, breaking the minute for the first time in the heat with a 59.48 qualifying in 3rd spot for the final. Despite turning 5th at the 50m mark, Beth stormed down the last 50m, breaking the 59sec barrier and taking gold in 58.74.
An amazing achievement by all for even qualifying for these events, time for a well earned break and some rest and recovery for all. See you in September

WORCESTER AUTUMN OPEN MEET 2023
30th September - 1st October 2023
Perdiswell Leisure Centre, Worcester
This was the club's first competition of the 2023-24 season. After a good summer break for all, this event gave our senior squad swimmers a chance to get some early race practice in and for the younger swimmers a base line for times for the new season and a chance to race again. It was a long weekend for all those competing, with the programme including all usual stroke/distances plus 400m events and a skins event.
Although this early meet is just an event for race practice for all, the team achieved many Personal Best times over the course of the weekend, this is due to all the hard work and hours these swimmers have put into training since the summer break.
Special mention to Esmay Jones who took the overall Top Female trophy with 118 points and winning herself a £50 prize, and Maisy Kirby who finished third overall in the female category with 85 points, missing out on second place by just one point. Well done girls!
And a huge well done to all, as Wrekin Swimming Club took the Top Club trophy winning with 852 points, over 100 points in front of second place!
Overall, the team had a great meet, with lots of PB's, race experience and most of all fun. Well done team Wrekin!
